UICB Vision 2010

UICB - The International Union of Building Centres - is a nongovernmental organization that exists to serve its members, regardless of nationality, at the international level. The Statutes state:

"The objective of the Union is to strengthen the social, cultural and professional ties between Building Centres throughout the world and to encourage the exchange of information and documentation within the building and construction industry" (Statutes, Article 2)

Strengthening ties internationally in a context of globalization and international competition, every operator in the building industry in every country is exposed to open competition; as are also international opportunities for business becoming available to the informed entrepreneur.

Mission

To operate successfully in this internationalized market place, professionals, manufacturers and contractors need trustworthy information - and it is through the UICB that they can obtain it. UICB enters the new millennium with a solid infrastructure.

Strategies

UICB forms a significant network for a number of organizations, each of which has its own network of clients and contacts in its own country or region. UICB is the 'international' aspect of this network of networks.

UICB aims to be the best global information and cooperation network in the building sector. UICB strives to connect research and innovation in building and construction on the one hand and application and practice on the other.

UICB provides its members with unique resources. These resources fit into the concept of 'globalization' and provide UICB members with access to the broader arena that their clients need.

UICB offers its members possibilities to benchmark Building Centres' activities and utilize the Internet services provided by UICB.org.
